HARD LIVING KIDS

HKL is the youth affiliate of the powerful Hard Living gang, that controls a great deal of the arms and drugs traffic in the poorest communities of Cape Town Townships. This is the story of Schoolboy and Richie Gee, two young ex-gangsters whom the authors met in prison in 1997. Now these young men are trying to adjust to the stigmatisation that exists within the communities to which they have returned.
